Surveillance Sign
If
you're operating CCTV cameras in public then you need a video
surveillance sign to comply with The Data Protection Act. This means
you have to show specific personalised information on cctv warning
signs where CCTV images are
being recorded.
You need to make sure you have cctv
signage
that is clearly visible and
easy to read. Make sure you have it displayed in areas entered by the
public and which is covered by CCTV.
CCTV warning signs on a door to a building may only need to be A4 in
size, as it's the door is at eye level to those entering the premises.
However, where cctv covers a larger area such as a car park larger cctv
signs will be necassery as a person will be viewing them from far away.
